We're into a new season, and hitting the end of the month, and that slight chill in the air tells me that we're due for a month end update!
Chronicles of Darkness update day.
It's Friday, so I'm not going to take up a lot of your time, and I don't really have any big new news to share. As with all things 2020, the good news is no major disasters - everything's continuing to move forward. Progress may be slower than anticipated, but slow progress is better than set backs. As they say, sometimes no news is good news! I'll take it!

Hello Arisen,
As we approach the final day of August, it's time for our regular month end update. Near the end of each month, I will be sending out an update, with status notes on our main project as well as the Stretch Goal project we added. As noted in previous updates, these projects take a long time to put together. You've seen the manuscript preview PDF, but there are still many moving pieces and puzzles to solve in turning this into an awesome book. These month-end updates ensure that communication is constant and consistent, and that we're all on the same page with regards to where we stand.
Just a reminder that I'll send these out each month, for those who get anxious to know what's going on around the 26th...
No major changes this past month, just ongoing progress in getting these books to their final stages.

Players will take their characters through a tightly designed yet flexible story arc that ends in apotheosis or death – either way, the character will no longer be mortal after this book. Your characters don’t have to follow every Milestone with their Deeds — but they cannot run from their destiny once they’ve chosen to embrace it.

This is where I'd put a joke about time losing all linear meaning, as days drag on but the past month rushed by, and how that relates to our favorite Mummy game. But it just seems a little on the nose. I can't believe it's already been a month since our last update, and yet it seems like it's been forever! Let's get right to it!

Onyx Path's latest game of cinema-inspired fun is They Came from Beyond the Grave! If you're a fan of Roger Corman's creature features, Hammer horror films, or the Amicus movies, this game is for you.
Set in two time periods - the 1970s, when these movies were made, and the 19th century, when many were set - you may just find yourself running or participating in a tale of suspense set across two different eras, both of which contain a mix of hammy acting, technicolor blood, wobbling sets, and all the screams an audience could want.
Indulge in the cigarette smoke, despairing mood, and wide collars of the 1970s. Enjoy the rock and drugs entering the mainstream. What was counterculture is now simply culture. Maybe you favor the disco, or perhaps the punk scene is more your thing. Grow a mustache. Grow a whole beard! It’s no longer rebellious to wear hair or sideburns so long or skirts so short: it’s expected. Hitchhiking isn’t a death sentence yet. Or not quite. Everyone owns a car, and international travel has never felt so easy.
Prepare to trudge through the London fog, creep around unlit alleys, and get lost on misty moors as your deerstalker and long coat gets saturated from the rain apparently incessant throughout the 19th century depicted in the cinema. Prepare to catch a ride in a carriage and ask the driver why he’s going so fast through this part of the woods. Expect to knock on the door to an imposing castle, only to see the butler, far too pale of face, ask whether you’re here to see “the mistress.” The 19th century beckons you to play within its Victorian gothic mood. Start the game here or start it in the 1970s — whichever you prefer, They Came from Beyond the Grave! has monsters, stories, and encounters for whatever tale you wish to tell.

No major updates for this month (our project is still in the earliest stages of the post-kickstarter process), but wanted to make sure I continue my monthly update posts to track all of our rewards and continue to share any info about the project (and other Onyx Path projects) so we're all in the loop.

I do want to share this exciting bit of fun! As you may know, Onyx Path hosted a Virtual Gaming Convention earlier this month, featuring interesting panels discussing their processes and projects as well as other relevant topics.
