The concept of time is already a bit topsy-turvy for the Arisen, but I'm going to make it even more complicated by sending out my regular month end update a week early!
That's right - this is the February 2021 Update, coming out to you early because I have exciting info to share!
Early Update James
Over the past year, dealing with the pandemic and the scheduling and logistical hurdles has proven to be an ongoing multi-part challenge, and getting books printed and shipped on time has been difficult. That's mostly to external factors in dealing with manufacturing and distribution changes.
However, in terms of the digital side, Onyx Path has done an amazing job getting PDFs out before the estimated delivery date listed on the kickstarter campaigns. And, I'm very happy to say, that streak has continued with this project!
The Mummy: The Curse 2nd Edition kickstarter campaign had set the projected PDF distribution date as April 2021. But time has no meaning for the Arisen, and I'm happy to announce that we've got your backer PDFs ready to go a couple months early!

BACKER PDF VERSION
This is the first version of Mummy:The Curse 2nd Editionto be released. We've sent you these initial Backer PDFs for three reasons:
1) Who wants to wait?! These projects can take a long time to turn into final releases - you know that - and the Onyx Path team wants to get them into your hands as quickly as possible!
2) To thank you for your support! This project, literally, is a direct result of your support during the Kickstarter campaign. You deserve to see it before anyone else!
3) To make the final version the best it can be! The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Mummy:The CurseFeedback Form!
Generally, they try to keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks, although it may be accessible a little bit longer due to the chaotic nature of the world we're in now. Still, please report what you can as soon as possible to make sure we're getting everything covered.
They won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form.
After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), we will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.
You've already made the book a reality with your Kickstarter support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.

Hello Arisen,
The year is 2021, and this is the first month end update for this project so far this year.
Just in case you've awakened from a different time period. Or, like me, spent most of last year in a semi-daze.
I'm in the middle of a polar vortex, and actually look like a mummy when I go out to walk the dog! Dress in layers!
No big announcements for Mummy: The Curse quite yet. I know that this book is the focus of a lot of effort currently, and everything seems to be on track so far! Let's check in with our reward list to ensure we're all on the same page.

2020 Year End Update

Hello Arisen,
It's not quite the end of the year (that can't come soon enough!), but I wanted to get this out early so we can maybe have a little bit of quiet time during these year end holidays.

This year has obviously been full of unexpected challenges and difficult times. Our campaign funded a year ago, and this year would normally have been mostly about watching the gradual progress on the projects we helped fund, as they slowly work their way to us. This year wasn't normal at all, though, but things have still moved along. I'm hoping 2021 is a much more manageable year, and looking forward to the results of the hard work of the Onyx Path team. I know that if I could experience time in a non-linear fashion, I'd have jumped over 2020 right to 2021!

ONYX PATH ON KICKSTARTER IN 2020
To say this year was challenging would be an understatement. Despite difficult, uncertainty, and demanding situations, the Onyx Path team continued to work on the great projects that have made us fans. It wasn't easy - schedules shifted, delays managed, and difficulties dealt with - but here we are at the end of 2020 with some victories to show!
Kickstarter continues to be an important part of the process for Onyx Path, and looking at the long list of projects in the works on the Monday Meeting Notes blog, it certainly looks like that’ll continue to be the case in 2021.
Rather than just take pre-order for an upcoming project, Kickstarter has allowed Onyx Path to gauge interest in game lines (to see if they should develop additional projects beyond those offered during the campaign), and sometimes even add additional projects to a game line immediately via Stretch Goal achievements. More importantly, it’s a chance to interact with the community and for everyone to get involved from the earliest stages.
Looking at 2020, Onyx Path had 7 Kickstarter campaigns funded, with one more currently on the go!
And, though the campaign still has a few days to go, the recent DeadMan's Rust mega-adventure and setting supplement for ScarredLands 5th Edition has funded, which means it will get added to the list soon!

We're in the middle phase of project tracking, so a lot of these updates will be similar and, sorry to say, a little boring. As far as I know, everything's still on track and humming away. In 2020, the saying is absolutely true - no news is good news.

That said, I do want to continue to send monthly updates even though there's not much to update. It's important that you know nothing has been forgotten or left by the wayside, and that the Onyx Path team is still working on this awesome book. It means we'll have a quiet winter and an exciting spring!
