TRACKING INFORMATION
If you were set to receive a hardcover copy of Mummy:The Curse Second Edition as a kickstarter reward, your book has shipped and likely delivered by now. If you haven't received it yet, please check your tracking and confirm that it's still en route. Sometimes I'll hear from backers that had no idea the book was being held at a local post office or had delivered to their next door neighbor. The courier and delivery companies keep tracking information for about 6 months, so if you've got any issues, please let me know as soon as possible so we can sort them out. Hello Arisen,
It's a pretty exciting week for the Mummy: The Curse Second Edition kickstarter post-campaign, at least in terms of our rewards list. Last month, I had our final pre-shipping lockdown schedule note, so it's time to follow that up with our shipping information.
Orders have started shipping, and all orders should be out by next Friday, April 1. Not even an early April Fools Day joke, those waiting for the Mummy kickstarter hardcover books will soon have them in hand.
MUMMY IS SHIPPING
All orders for the hardcover book that were confirmed by Feb 2, paid for by Feb 23, and had delivery destinations confirmed by March 2 are now been picked, packed, and will shipped out over the coming week.
TRACKING INFORMATION
Normally, US backers would start seeing deliveries a week or two after the orders have left the warehouse, but the strain on delivery infrastructure during this pandemic has a cascading effect that's just slowing all processes down. That's also affecting tracking updates - but, I'm told, information should catch up as packages move through the system. Many of us may actually receive our books before the tracking status gets updated, but the good news is that, eventually, everything should be delivered and confirmed.
Now that the orders are shipping, you will (*should*) get an e-mail with Tracking Information.
Your tracking information may take a few days to update at any given time, so you may see "Pre-Shipment" as it filters out to the various shipping agencies, but it should update as it travels and eventually delivers to you.
Again: You'll have your tracking numbers sent via the e-mail provided to Backerkit, and shortly thereafter, you will also be able to access your Tracking number in Backerkit by reviewing your Order Confirmation.
The Mummy page should look pretty similar to this example.
Your BackerKit Confirmation page has:
The TRACKING NUMBER for your shipment (once it's been uploaded)
Your confirmed shipping address
A link to your digital redemption codes
A link back to the Community page

As noted in this update, it may take up to 48 hours for Tracking Information to update. That said, tracking your packages - especially for international orders - can provide great assistance in solving minor issues before they become major issues.
International Shipping costs continue to climb - that's an understatement - and every sign points to additional costs coming later in 2022, so it's pretty important that we avoid any re-ships or additional shipping charges as much as possible. And that's where your help can really come in handy.
I've dealt with several situations where shipments were marked as "delivered" but the backer hadn't checked the tracking information for months, unaware that the package had been sitting at a neighbor's house or stuck in a local postal facility.
So, please, check your tracking number over the next few weeks. If you haven't received your package by, let's say April 22, review the tracking number to see where the issue might be.
Again, it may take a few days for any status updates to appear, and depending on the country and carrier, each package may enjoy a different transit time. But if we're into May, let's see if we can sort out any delivery issues while everything's still fresh.
For example, if Package status indicates it was delivered but you never received it
Double-check your Backerkit CONFIRMATION PAGE (as detailed above) that the correct address was provided, and maybe check with your neighbors to make sure it wasn’t accidentally left there. If that doesn’t turn up anything, contact the carrier or your local post office to report the package as not received and please contact me using the Contact Creator button on kickstarter to let me know you didn’t get your order.
I've seen so many orders sitting in a local post office for 8 weeks while the recipient was left unaware that it was waiting. Additionally, other backers have solved issues almost immediately with a quick call to FedEx and providing their tracking number.
It's a HUGE help to me and Onyx Path if we can solve any wayward shipment or stuck orders in April, rather than waiting until the summer when shipping systems finally give up delivery attempts and return the items to our fulfillment partner (at an extra cost to Onyx Path). Let's avoid paying for multiple return shipments if we can! Thanks for your help in advance.
Also, if you have any issues with your shipment or books, do not panic! As we've all done for the past few years, we will get through this. It may take a bit to sort, but I'll do my best to make sure everyone gets their rewards.
Since our last update, I've also been tweaking the format for our Pending Rewards listing. Now that we've got one final Stretch Goal reward to go, it won't be as impressive, but at least we'll have a visual representation of how things are coming along.

We're approaching the end of the month, so it's time for our regular month end update. Since it's the shortest month of the year, I'll try and keep the update short as well... though there's a lot of info still to go over.
Last year saw a lot of massive shifts in Onyx Path's project plans, with their print plan delayed by up to 13 months on some projects. The good news is that the 2021 slate is finally printed and books will soon be shipping out to backers!
(As an aside, <THIS SUMMARY> from Extra Credits gives a great overview of the issues that everyone's been dealing with. It primarily focuses on board game publishers, but the situation spills out across all industries and also carries through to affect distribution and retail as well. As a bonus, the script was written by Onyx Path's own Eddy Webb!)

Quick note on schedules and timelines
There's a lot going on - Onyx Path has SIX PROJECTS all finally catching up - all happening around the same time, so there will be lots of moving parts and potential issues. Right now, we're looking at each project taking 2-3 weeks to completely fulfill, so that could be about 3 months of process for these six releases. For Mummy, I'm hoping that everything will be out by mid-April, but that's predicated on everything running as smoothly as possible with no unforeseen issues. Whatever happens, I'll work with our fulfillment partners to get everything out as quickly as manageable. The delivery side of this may be an ongoing project, but we'll get there! Don't worry - we'll have lots of opportunities to make sure we're set up for success as long as the external factors all cooperate.

So, it looks like the printer has completed the offset run for Mummy: The Curse Second Edition! These books are set to deliver to our fulfillment partners by mid-March, and I'm hoping that they'll be able to begin shipments a few weeks after that. I'll have more information coming in our March update, but we're absolutely approaching the finish line!

Our first update of 2022, and there's a lot to go over! I'm also in the middle of tweaking the format of these month-end updates, so bear with me as I figure out the best way to present and link to information. But let's get right to it, because we are in the middle of our order lockdown process!
Because everything seems to be going smoothly, I'm going to slightly tweak the dates from our last update to make sure we're ready a bit sooner, just in case. See below for our new key dates.

2021 Year End Update - Lockdown Schedule Take 2

You know, 2021 started out with so much promise! We received our Backer PDFs of Mummy: The Curse about six weeks into the year, and I was looking forward to the next steps of the process.
Well, surprise! While "better" is a shifting target, the past year was certainly full of different challenges and changes and had massive impacts on many projects from the Onyx Path team. It was in the spring when Onyx Path started to learn about the massive paper shortage and printing challenges that were affecting so many game companies, and our book suffered as the printing schedule was adjusted by 9-12 months.
All of that said, let's not dwell too much, though, and instead do a quick summary of where we stand and what's left to accomplish in 2022 and then a fast review of some of the successes of 2021.
2022 LOCKDOWN SCHEDULE - Preparing for Printing and Hardcover Rewards
In danger of repeating myself from earlier in the year, I'm going into 2022 optimistic that our patience will pay off and our book will be printed in the next few months. So, with fingers crossed and eyes bright, let's look at a revised lockdown schedule for 2022.
Over the next several weeks, we're going to confirm all order quantities and rewards, process any outstanding Backer Kit payments, and then confirm shipping information with the expectation of the books being printed and available to ship in the spring.

In nine weeks, I will instruct BackerKit to lock down and process all outstanding payments.
3. CONFIRM SHIPPING INFORMATION - Please ensure your shipping information is up-to-date with your expected address for April 2022. Please ensure that this information is entered and correct by MARCH23, 2022. In twelve weeks, I will take the shipping information we have for you in BackerKit and provide that to our fulfillment partners, so they can schedule the picking and packing of orders, with plans to begin shipping hopefully not long thereafter.

ONYX PATH CROWDFUNDING IN 2021
Another challenging year. While there were some moments of taking two steps forward and one step back, at least there was some forward momentum. Onyx Path spent the previous year restructuring and adapting their processes to better function during the pandemic, but still external issues presented (and continue to present) challenges. Paper shortages, manufacturing difficulties, shipping and storage problems. The new normal.
Despite all of that, Onyx Path was able to get some products out, at least digitally, during the year.
While the massive paper shortage and manufacturing issues kept many of these from seeing print in 2021, they're all currently scheduled to attain physical form in early 2022. Here's hoping the process keeps moving forward and we can finally ship these rewards. Even with that caveat, that's still a pretty impressive list of stuff that's out and available to play.
